rest allows a driven person to trust.
Do: Watch the video from Crossroads Kids' Club about God providing for the Israelites in the wilderness
Ask: Have you ever heard someone say "my eyes were bigger than my stomach?"
Discuss: This often happens when we go to a buffet or candy store and see all the treats we think we could eat only to discover we don't have room for them in our bellies. We are trying to do something that we have no control over. In the video today we watched the Israelites gather food, God said it would go bad if they took too much for one day and it did. He told them to get twice as much on the 6th day so they could rest on the 7th day. If they went out on the 7th day there would be no food, and there wasn't when some went to look on the 7th day. They learned to trust God to give them enough and then to rest. This is great news for us too! This story of God providing for the Israelites shows us how we can trust his promises too, when we rest and allow Jesus to take care of us as a great friend, we trust him more and more.
