Pretending can sometimes be fun. Sometimes it's awesome to dress up like our favorite character or pretend to be a princess or superhero. There's nothing wrong with pretending as long as everyone knows it's just for playtime. But when we are being good friends and neighbors, we don't want to just pretend to do that, we want to really help and show people that we care for them. We can do this with people even if we aren't really good friends or even know them. Sometimes this isn't easy and it might take a lot of work but that's ok. We just have to try our best. Jesus wants us to care for each other just like he cares for us. What are some ways you think we can show people how much we care for them?
This week, we met the religious leaders in the story of the Good Samaritan. They loved God and served him but they didn't stop to help the man along the road. The man was like them in many ways but they didn't offer any help. What would it look like to not just pretend to be a good neighbor to the man in need?
Next week will conclude the story of the Good Samaritan but in the meantime check out this video from Life.Kids.tv. It is a live action retelling of the Good Samaritan
