Ask: Why do you think it's important to have rules?
Discuss: "Rules" might sound like things you have to do like pick up your stinky socks or go to bed by a certain time, but there are also other expectations or standards that our family has set up as a fence to protect the hearts of our family members. Each family is different so their fence might look different than ours (their standards & rules may be different) and that's ok. It's important to remember that when we create "fences" or boundaries in certain areas in our lives, we do it to protect ourselves and those we love. This week's focus verse is from Paul's letter to Timothy. In this CrossRoad's Kid's Club video, we learn more about Timothy's life, including that he was raised by his mom and grandma and loved to learn about God. What kind of fences, or family standards, do you imagine were a part of Timothy's life? [Don't forget to take turns reading the Point and verse together]
